LUCIA project: LUminating Communications via Intelligent Algorithms (2025/2026)
Mobile operators are on a mission to achieve operational efficiency in their network while, at the same time, they need to enhance customer experience in order to avoid customer churn. Factors such as energy consumption, traffic handled, but also issues that cause calls to drop or limit data upload/download speed need need to be taken into consideration for network operations to be as efficient as possible.
The project focuses on developing technology that optimises configuration and performance of mobile operators’ radio access network in order to achieve optimal operational efficiency.
Routine and exceptional scenarios are analysed to identify the key factors affecting call quality as well as network operations. Intelligent algorithms will then be developed to optimise configuration and performance of the network, thus maximising simultaneously efficiency of operations and quality of experience.
The funding
The project is funded by the European Union and managed by the Andalusia ERDF Programme 2021–2027.
